Hiring Event May 23, 2019

In partnership with Caroline County Public Schools and Caroline County Recreation & Parks, we will be hosting a hiring event exclusively for graduating seniors on May 23, 2019.

The potential applicants will be exclusively graduating CCPS seniors who are not going to college or the military.

The event will be at the Fretterd Community Center in Denton.

Talent Development Workshop

May 13th 2019: 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

A focused workshop on developing employees’ skills, retaining your workforce, and increasing productivity.  Location: 9194 Legion Road, Conference Room (USDA/Soil Conservation Building)

  • $15 members / $20 non-members
  • Continental breakfast provided

Topics include:

  • Establishing a registered apprenticeship program in your business
  • Utilizing partnership for registered apprenticeships
  • Training support through the State and Chesapeake College

Entrepreneurship & Wifi Come To Denton

The Eastern Shore’s newest hotDesk Coworking Space and Cambio Broadband comes to Downtown Denton!  hotDesks and Cambio are now located at 323 Market Street on the second floor.

hotDesks is a network of six co-working spaces on Maryland’s Eastern Shore offering entrepreneurs shared work amenities, resources and access to large bandwidth wifi. Cambio provides wireless broadband internet service using high speed fiber optics and state-of-the-art equipment. Downtown Denton will now have free, public wifi thanks to Cambio.

The Downtown Denton hotDesk is made possible by the Town of Denton, Maryland Department of Housing & Community Development, Cambio Broadband and the Eastern Shore Entrepreneurship Center.

Opportunity Zones

The Opportunity Zone program is a federal initiative from the U.S. Treasury. The program provides federal tax incentives for investment in distressed communities over the next 10 years. Areas in Denton and Federalsburg are designated as Opportunity Zones in which investors will be able to reap the benefits of capital gains through business and residential projects.
