Leadercast Delmarva

Federalsburg, MD

Leadercast Delmarva will take place on May 9th at Colonel Richardson High School near Federalsburg.  Leadercast is a world-renowned, one-day leadership event that features high profile speakers, all of whom address a common theme throughout the day.  The theme for Leadercast 2014 is “Beyond You.”  This theme is intended to help leaders shift their thinking to an external focus on helping colleagues, customers, and their broader communities succeed.

Leadercast Delmarva is a live broadcast of the event from its home-base of Atlanta, GA.  Prior to the broadcast, opening remarks will be delivered in person at 8:30 a.m. by Easton resident Len Foxwell, Chief of Staff for the Maryland Comptroller.  “We are very excited to have Mr. Foxwell join us to kick off Leadercast Delmarva,” says Angela Visintainer, Director of Caroline Economic Development Corp. and organizer of the event.  “He understands the Eastern Shore and the leadership challenges and opportunities we have here.”

The live broadcast will begin at 9:00 and the first session will feature Andy Stanley, leadership author and communicator, and Dr. Henry Cloud, clinical psychologist and leadership consultant.  After a brief break, the second session will feature Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Nobel Laureate and human rights activist, as well as Laura Schroff, best-selling author and former Time executive.

A special presentation will then be delivered by Mindie Burgoyne, Regional Representative for the Maryland Department of Business & Economic Development (DBED).  DBED is the platinum sponsor for Leadercast Delmarva, and Ms. Burgoyne will discuss economic opportunities on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, as well as resources available from the State to help businesses grow and succeed.

After lunch is served, the broadcast will continue with the third session featuring Laura Bush, former First Lady of the United States; Malcolm Gladwell, award-winning journalist and best-selling author; and Randall Wallace, director of movies such as Braveheart and We Were Soldiers.

The fourth and final session of the broadcast will feature Bill McDermott, Chief Executive Officer of SAP, and Simon Sinek, leadership expert and best-selling author.  Leadercast Delmarva will conclude at 4:30 p.m.

Throughout the day, the broadcast will include musical performances and short skits from the comedy duo Tripp and Tyler.  “Leadercast is a lot of fun because there are always surprises mixed in that keep the energy level up,” says Visintainer.  “Leadercast also encourages attendees to engage social media throughout the day, so you can view tweets and Facebook posts from other attendees around the world as you watch the broadcast.”
